Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Rise Up collects, why it is used, how the service handles it, and the controls available to you.
Information you provide
Rise Up may store your sign-in information; profile name, private account identifier, photos, bio, city, interests and settings; posts, comments, reactions, Video Life and Pic Life activity; My Circle relationships; direct messages and message photos; Marketplace and In Search Of listings; business listings, reviews and claim submissions; reports, blocks and deletion requests.
Hopeless Ro Dating uses the same Firebase Authentication account but separates private account information from the public Dating profile. Private Dating account information may include legal name, email, phone number and home ZIP. Public Dating information may include first name, age, city/state, photos, prompts, relationship intentions, Rose Path responses and Date Readiness status. Your exact home address is not published.
Location and media
Features may use location only when you choose to provide it or grant browser permission. Black Business Finder keeps a device coordinate only in the current browser session and does not write it to your Rise Up profile. When browser location is slow or unavailable, the website may call BigDataCloud’s free client-side location endpoint without your device coordinate to obtain a best-effort approximate city or region from network information. Ro Signal stores a deliberately rounded, approximate location zone for nearby discovery while the signal is active. Marketplace and business listings may include the city, state or ZIP you enter. Uploaded photos and videos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
For an externally hosted video or podcast, Rise Up stores the source URL, provider, title, thumbnail, player URL and your rights-confirmation record, but does not copy the hosted video file into Rise Up storage. Opening or autoplaying that content connects your device to the third-party host, which may receive information such as your IP address, browser or device details and cookies under its own privacy policy.
Contact matching
If you explicitly grant Contacts permission and choose Scan Contacts, Rise Up normalizes allowed email addresses and phone numbers and converts them to SHA-256 hashes on your device. Only those hashes and aggregate counts are uploaded and stored in your private contact-matching record to identify existing Rise Up members. Contact names, raw phone numbers, raw email addresses, addresses, notes, photos and the raw contact list are not uploaded. Rise Up does not automatically text, invite or message your contacts.
How information is used
- Authenticate your account and keep your data synchronized across the Rise Up service.
- Show content, profiles, listings, nearby discovery and conversations you request.
- Deliver alerts, support moderation, investigate reports and enforce blocks.
- Operate seller ratings, business claims, safety check-ins and deletion workflows.
- Protect the service, diagnose errors and improve reliability.
How information is shared
Information you intentionally publish is visible according to the feature and privacy settings you select. Messages are visible to their participants and may be reviewed by authorized administrators when reported or safety-flagged. Rise Up uses service providers such as Google Firebase for authentication, databases, file storage, hosting, functions and notifications, and BigDataCloud for the optional browser-side approximate Business Finder location fallback described above. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect safety and rights, or as part of a legitimate business transfer.
Rise Up does not make your private Hopeless Ro legal name, private phone number, private email or home ZIP part of the public Dating profile.
Retention, deletion and security
Content remains until you delete it, close the relevant feature profile, close your account, or it is removed under moderation and retention rules. Your private contact-matching hash record is removed when you delete your Rise Up account. Some records may be retained for fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, backups or dispute handling. Business-claim identity documents follow the configured claim-document retention period after a final decision.
Reasonable safeguards are used, including Firebase security rules and access controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, keep your devices secure and report suspicious activity promptly.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, privacy, notification and feed settings.
- Delete your posts, listings, groups or other content when the feature permits.
- Block or report users and conversations.
- Turn Ro Signal private and remove your separate Hopeless Ro Dating profile.
- Delete your main Rise Up account from Settings, subject to recent-login verification.

Age and policy changes
You must be old enough to use the service and consent to data processing under the law where you live. Hopeless Ro Dating is strictly limited to adults age 18 or older. This policy may be updated as features or legal requirements change; the effective date at the top identifies the current version.
