Hopeless Ro Dating Safety
Use these rules for every Hopeless Ro conversation and meeting. A match, Rose Path, Date Readiness result or verification badge is never a guarantee of safety.
Protect private information
- Keep your home address, workplace details, financial information, passwords and account codes private.
- Use Rise Up messaging while getting to know someone. Be cautious when pressured to switch to encrypted or disappearing-message apps.
- Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or banking information to someone you met through Dating.
- Reverse-image-search unfamiliar photos and verify identity through a live video conversation when appropriate.
Plan the first meeting
- Meet in a busy public place and tell a trusted person who you are meeting, where and when.
- Control your own transportation and have an independent way to leave.
- Keep your phone charged and avoid sharing your home address for pickup.
- Limit alcohol or substances and never leave food or drinks unattended.
- Use the First Meet Plan Builder and schedule a safety check-in, but do not rely on it as an emergency service.
Trust boundaries and warning signs
Leave or end contact when someone ignores boundaries, becomes controlling, threatens you, pressures sex or money, tells inconsistent stories, refuses reasonable identity confirmation, or creates an urgent crisis to manipulate you. Consent must be clear, voluntary, informed, ongoing and reversible at any time.
Report and block
Use Report for threats, scams, impersonation, harassment, exploitation or unsafe behavior. Use Block to stop future interaction. For an immediate threat, contact local emergency services first. Keep screenshots, public names, dates and other evidence that may help an investigation.
Administrator and system limits
Safety flags can assist review but may miss harmful content or flag harmless words. Administrators are not continuously monitoring every conversation. Rise Up cannot verify every statement, predict behavior or physically protect members at a meeting.
